More than 1700 German companies are active in Iran. According to experts two thirds of the Iranian industry are dependent on German high-tech-products.
The "Hermes-Bürgschaften", which are credit guarantees of the German state, were reduced in the past two years but not completely ceased. The German government reposes on "voluntary self-control" of German combines. But simultaneously, Herbert Honsowitz, the German envoy in Teheran, assures "that the German Embassy tries to preserve and improve connections between private companies of both countries". Honsowitz also referred to the fact that a main part of German exports indirectly reaches Iran via Dubai, which also deserves to be endorsed.
